Free network monitoring for up to 100 sensors

TarleyNode is free for up to 100 sensors, about 10 devices, for as long as you like. Every new installation starts with a 30-day trial of every feature with unlimited sensors, then carries on free within 100 sensors. It runs on your own server, so your monitoring data stays on your network.

How the free edition works

  • A 30-day trial of every feature, with unlimited sensors.
  • Then free for up to 100 sensors, for as long as you like.
  • A sensor is one check on one device, such as ping on a switch or disk space on a server. 100 sensors covers about 10 devices.
  • Runs on your own Ubuntu or Debian server, including on networks without internet access.

What you can monitor

  • Network devices: Interface status, bandwidth, errors, CPU, memory and uptime via SNMP v2c and v3.
  • Servers: Linux health via SSH or SNMP, with services via SSH. Windows health, services and performance counters via WinRM.
  • Websites and applications: HTTP and HTTPS availability, certificate expiry, DNS records, TCP ports, mail services and multi-step web transactions.
  • Databases: Availability and response time for SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL, with Oracle Database in beta.
  • Virtualisation: VMware vCenter, ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V and Proxmox Datacenter Manager, with Proxmox VE, XCP-ng, Citrix Hypervisor, Nutanix, oVirt, Red Hat Virtualization, Virtuozzo, IBM PowerVM and HPE Morpheus in beta.
  • Cloud services: Microsoft Azure and AWS resources, together with Microsoft 365 service health.
  • Traffic and events: NetFlow, IPFIX and sFlow traffic analysis, with syslog and SNMP trap reception.
  • Custom integrations: Custom sensors for REST APIs and scripts, with support for existing Nagios plugins.

When you need more

Paid licences are priced per installation by sensor count, with unlimited users on every tier. If a licence expires, monitoring, alerting and reporting continue; only adding sensors and installing updates are paused until it is renewed.

  • 500 sensors, about 50 devices: USD 600 a year.
  • 1,000 sensors, about 100 devices: USD 1,050 a year.
  • 2,500 sensors, about 250 devices: USD 2,250 a year.
  • 5,000 sensors, about 500 devices: USD 3,900 a year.
  • 10,000 sensors, about 1,000 devices: USD 4,950 a year.
