A self-hosted Domotz alternative.
Looking for a Domotz alternative? Domotz is a cloud service with an agent at each site, pricing per site and strong remote access, but it stores your data in its cloud and does not offer NetFlow or syslog support. TarleyNode runs entirely on your own Linux server and includes flow analysis, syslog and SNMP traps.

Prices
| Plan | Listed price | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| IT teams | €35 per location a month | Unlimited devices at that location |
| MSPs and integrators | €35 per site a month, falling to €17.50 at 500 sites | Volume rates on a 12-month term |
Domotz lists its prices in euros and says they were updated in September 2026. Each site needs a Domotz agent, on your own hardware or a Domotz Box.
TarleyNode is priced per installation by sensors, with connected sites included: free for up to 100 sensors after a 30-day trial, then from USD 600 a year for 500 sensors.
Where Domotz is stronger
- Pricing per site, with MSP volume discounts, unlimited devices and every feature on every plan.
- One-click remote access to devices without a VPN.
- The agent runs on many platforms, including Windows, Synology and QNAP NAS, Raspberry Pi, Docker and the plug-in Domotz Box.
- Apps for iOS and Android.
- Multi-tenant organisations and sites for MSPs.
- Nothing central to host or maintain.
Where TarleyNode differs
- Self-hosted: monitoring data stays on your own server, including on networks with no internet access.
- NetFlow, IPFIX and sFlow traffic summaries.
- Syslog and SNMP trap reception, with event rules that turn messages into incidents.
- Connected sites keep monitoring locally and keep results on disk if their link is interrupted. Domotz says that when its agent is offline, it is no longer monitoring that network.
- A high availability option with standby servers, a witness and automatic failover.
- Escalation by site and severity, public status pages and monthly service-level reports that cannot be changed afterwards.
Which team should pick which
Pick Domotz if you are an MSP or integrator looking after many small sites, want remote access built in and simple per-site pricing, and are happy for monitoring data to live in Domotz’s cloud.
Pick TarleyNode if monitoring data must stay on your own infrastructure, you need flow analysis or syslog, or some networks have no internet access.
Switching from Domotz
- Install TarleyNode on a separate server or virtual machine.
- Run a discovery scan of the networks Domotz monitors, using the same SNMP and Windows credentials.
- Apply device templates, then compare alerts and reports from both over a few weeks.
- Switch when you are satisfied, and keep Domotz running until you no longer need it.
Questions
Where does Domotz store monitoring data?
Domotz says data for North American users is stored in the USA and data for users elsewhere is stored in the EU, and that its servers are hosted on Amazon Web Services. TarleyNode stores everything on your own server.
Does Domotz support NetFlow or syslog?
Domotz’s help centre says it does not currently offer NetFlow or syslog support. TarleyNode includes NetFlow, IPFIX and sFlow traffic summaries, syslog and SNMP traps.
How do the prices compare?
Domotz lists €35 per location a month for IT teams, with unlimited devices. TarleyNode is priced per installation by sensors, with connected sites included: free for up to 100 sensors after a 30-day trial, then from USD 600 a year for 500 sensors.
What happens if a site loses its connection?
Domotz says that when its agent is offline, Domotz is no longer monitoring that network. TarleyNode connected sites keep monitoring their local devices and retain results on disk until the link returns.

Ask for an invitation through Request a demo; every request is read by a person. An evaluation includes every feature with unlimited sensors for 30 days, and TarleyNode then stays free for up to 100 sensors. It does not change device configuration, so it can run next to Domotz while you compare.
